Upper primary school mathematics question UPQ441

During the Great Singapore Sale, Sarin’s father decided to buy a pair of shoe at the price indicated in below figure. What is the percentage of discount he gets?

Solution:

The usual price (UP) of a pair of shoe = \$69

The selling price of a pair of shoe = \$23

The amount of discount = 69 – 23 = \$46

The percentage of discount = 46/69 × 100% = 66.7%
