Upper primary school mathematics question UPQ373

Express the perimeter of the following figure in terms of x.

            The length of the figure = 7x + 4 + 1 = (7x + 5) cm

            The breadth of the figure = 5x + 2 + 1 = (5x + 3) cm

            The perimeter of the figure = 2 × (7x + 5) + 2 × (5x + 3)

                                                                    = 14x + 10 + 10x + 6

                                                                    = (24x + 16) cm
