Lower primary school mathematics question LPQ89

There were 32 parents took their children to attend the concert at the Esplanade concert hall. The number of boys was 20 more than the number of girls. There were 268 people altogether. How many girls were there?

 Solution:

            Draw the model

            From the model

            2 units = 268 – 32 – 20 = 216

            1 unit = 108

            The number of girls in the concert hall = 108
