Lower primary school mathematics question LPQ74

Fatimah has 410marbles in three different colours to use in the Congkak game. There are 3 times as many blue marbles than green marbles. There are total 42 red marbles. How many blue marbles are there?

 Solution:

            There are total 42 red marbles

            The number of blue marbles plus green marbles = 410 – 42 = 368

            Draw the Math Model

 

 

            Per the model

            4 units = 368

            1 unit = 368 ÷ 4 = 92

            The number of blue marbles = 3 × 92 = 276
