Lower primary school mathematics question LPQ66

Hairu has a roll of wire 48cm long. He cuts the roll of wire into 2 pieces to form Square A and Square B. He uses 36 cm of the wire is used to form Square A. Find the length of each side of Square B.

Solution:

 

 

                        Square A uses 36cm of wire

                        The length of wire used to form square B = 48 – 36 = 12cm

                        The length of each side of square B = 12 ÷ 4 = 3cm
