Lower primary school mathematics question LPQ54

The figure below consists of 5 identical squares. What is the area and the perimeter of the figure?


            The area of a square with length of 2cm = 2 × 2 = 4cm2

            There are 5 identical squares formed the figure

            The area of the figure = 5 × 4 = 20cm2

            The perimeter of 1 square = 2 × 4 = 8cm2 

            The perimeter of the figure = 8 × 5 = 40cm
