Upper primary school mathematics question UPQ255

The figure below shows two identical quadrants. Find the perimeter of the coloured part. Take π = 3.14.

 

 

 

 

Solution:

 

 

 

            Since the figure form by two identical quardants

            The arc is a quarter in length of circle with radius = 20cm

            The perimeter of the colour figure = 20 + ¼ × 2 × 20 × π = 51.5cm
