In the below figure, what fraction of the regular hexagon is orange?

 

 

 

 

Solution:  

                       Sub-divides the regular hexagon as shown below             

 

                        The size of hexagon is 6 identical rectangles

                        The size of the orange triangle is 2 identical rectangles

                        The fraction of the regular hexagon is orange = 2/6 = 1/3
