Upper primary school mathematics question UPQ123

In The Esplande library, the ratio of the number of boys to the number of girls was 5:3. After 6 boys left, there were 12 more boys than girls. How many boys were there at first?

 Solution:

                          Draw a math model based on the ratio,

                          From the model,

                                                            2 units = 18

                                                            1 unit = 9

                                                            Boys = 5 × 9 = 45 in the library at first
