Sarin was given a box of anniversary badges to give away to the invited guests in the anniversary event.  There were red, blue and green badges in the box. The ratio of the number of red badges to the number of blue badges was 3 : 5. The ratio of the number of blue badges to the green badges was 3 : 5. What was the ratio of the number of red badges to the number of green badges?

Solution:

            Red                 Blue           Green

              3        :           5

                                     3         :           5

              9        :           15        :           25

              The ratio of the number of red badges to the number of green badges was 9 : 25
