Upper primary school mathematics question UPQ77

In the figure below, PQTU is a square, TUV is an equilateral triangle and RSTV is a rhombus. Find(a)   ∠QRS

(b)   ∠PVQ

Solution:

                                     TUV is an equilateral triangle,

                                     ∠ VTU = ∠ TUV = ∠ UTV = 600

                                     QTU is right angle,

                                     ∠ VTQ = 900 – 600 = 300

TV = TQ, TVQ form isosceles triangle

                                     ∠ QVT = ∠ VQT = (1800 – 300) ÷ 2

                                     ∠ QVT = 750

                                     RSTV is a rhombus,

                                     ∠ QRS = 1800 – 750 = 1050

                                     Similarly,

                                     ∠ PVU = ∠ QVT = 750

                                     ∠ PVQ = 3600 – 600 – 750 – 750 = 1500
