Lower primary school mathematics question LPQ15

There is a 3-digit number. The digit at the tens place is twice the value of the digit at the hundreds place. The digit at the ones place is the largest odd number while the digit at the hundreds place is the smallest even number. What is the number?

Solution:

            The largest odd number = 9 (ones place)

            The smallest even number = 2 (hundreds place)

            Twice the value of the digit at the hundreds place = 2 × 2 = 4 (tens place)

            The number is 249
